Nine people just like you serve on the Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. All directors are members and receive electric service from Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative.  The cooperative’s bylaws provide specific details about the requirements to be elected as a director.  The Nominating Committee nominates members for directors.  To determine who is on the Nomination Committee, please contact us.  Members can also be nominated by a petition of at least 15 members.

In most months, the Board of Directors meet the last Monday of each month.  For a complete list of meeting dates, please click here.  To request appearance at a meeting, please contact us and we will be happy to guide you through the process.

To vote, as a member-owner of SIEC, on any issue brought before the membership, please attend, an annual or special meeting of the members in person.  The SIEC bylaws do not allow for any other type voting methods.

Your cooperative’s board of directors have your best interest at heart and are elected by you, the Member. If you would like to be contacted by a board member, please contact our office and we will share your contact information with the board member.

Three directors are elected by, and from, your cooperative’s board of directors to represent it as members on the board of directors at Southern Illinois Power Cooperative (SIPC) headquartered at Marion, Illinois. Your cooperative’s general manager serves as your cooperatives fourth member on the SIPC Board of Directors.

One director is elected by, and from, your cooperative’s board of directors to represent it as a member on the board of directors at Association of Illinois Electric Cooperative (AIEC) headquartered at Springfield, Illinois.
