LOWER WHOLESALE POWER COST FOR MEMBERS BUDGETED FOR 2020

Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative (SIEC) is budgeted to realize a decrease in its wholesale power cost for all twelve months of 2020.

The decrease stems from the Southern Illinois Power Cooperative board approving a 4% decrease in its Demand Charge from $19.00/kW to $18.24/kW.

100% of the 2020 budgeted decrease will flow to the SIEC members through the power cost adder (PCA).  SIEC passes wholesale power costs that are under or over of that which is built in the rates directly to the members via the PCA.

The budgeted decrease translates to about a $28 annual savings for the average residential member (based on average monthly usage of 1,183 kWh).
