Steve Heisner

Stephen “Steve” Heisner of Karnak was appointed in August, 2020, to fill a Pulaski County vacancy on the board of directors following nomination by the nominating committee.

Steve is a lifelong resident of Pulaski County as has been an SIEC member for over 35 years, his grandfather, Jacob Heisner, being one of the earliest recipients of electric power through REA in Pulaski County in the early ‘40s.

Steve and his wife Heather, retired, have three babies – their Yorkies – Mini, Ella and Sophie.

Steve graduated from Century High School and received an Associate Degree from Shawnee Community College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, and a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern Illinois University before entering the Doctor of Rehabilitation program, also, at SIU-C.

Steve currently serves as the Vice President of Administration and Human Resources for the Dippin’ Dots companies and previously served as Assistant Warden of Programs at the Vienna Correctional Center.  He is a member of the Shawnee Community College Board of Trustees and a past President of the Century Unit District school board.  He currently serves as pastor of the Karnak, West Eden and Belknap United Methodist churches.
